Awards:
In collaboration with the drama and art subject areas, music has been awarded the 'Artsmark Silver Award' twice, in recognition of our commitment to the arts.

Latest Results:
In august 2008, it was confirmed that the Music subject area achieved 62% A*-C grades for GCSE Music. Well done to all students in that year group for their hard work.

Events:
Over the past three years, the music subject area has been responsible for the Christmas Carol Concert held at St. Nicholas Church in Nuneaton. There has also been four Battle of the Bands at the close of the previous four academic years, and there is going to be one amazing gig this year, in which student bands will battle it out for the title of supreme Etone band. We have also performed 'Oliver!' as part of a drama and music collaboration, which was played over four nights and one matinee performance for local feeder schools. And if that wasn't enough we also held an Etone Talent Show in December 2007, in which many outstanding talents were displayed by Etone students - many of whom should be very proud.

What we Offer:
Music is an enjoyable subject that is taught to all students at key stage 3 covering a range of topics such as how to compose Film Music, Music Technology, Dance Music, Blues Music, Music of Java and Bali, Indian Classical Music and Pop music.

For students wishing to continue with their music studies in key stage 4, students can study GCSE Music in years 10 and 11. GCSE Music involves understanding and enjoying learning to play a musical instrument as well as learning about various styles and genres of music throughout the centuries. The subject area has also recently offered A/S level Music Technology to its year 10/11 students, in which they learn how to record music, stage concerts and create musical albums.

Students in all years can learn to play a musical instrument such as the flute, piano, guitar, drum kit, violin and voice. We even have a range of extra-curricular clubs including Orchestra, Guitar club, Music Technology club and a GCSE coursework club. As you can see, there is no limit to what students of Etone can do in the Music subject area!!!
