Physical Education enjoys a high profile at Etone College. Our ethos is "Participation for all" where we provide our students with a broad, yet balanced curriculum, which encompasses a large range of sporting activities. These different activities range from team and individual games to problem solving activities. Within these activities an understanding of health and its relation to sport and fitness is gained.

This position allows for Etone students and the students of our feeder schools to experience new sporting activities. The SSCo position also gives Etone College the chance to bring in a wide range of experienced coaches to further the students knowledge of sporting activities new to them, or already available at Etone College.
Facilities:
Gym, Playing Fields (2 football pitch's, 1 Rugby), Sports Hall (Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball, Small sided football Courts) 4 Tennis Courts, All weather pitch
The PE subject area is also the proud owner of the Dartfish software, which enables the staff to analyse a student's performance. The students can also view their own and their peers performance, make comments on how it could be improved and design worksheets assessing and offering improvements to their performance

KS3:
Etone pupils are given the opportunity to experience a variety of sports. Focus is very much on skill attainment so our pupils become good communicators, leaders, creative thinkers, reflective learners, effective participators and team workers. Students are supported and developed to ensure enjoyment, progress and achievement through personal, learning and thinking skills. Our high standards of teaching ensure Etone pupils are confident and enjoy a safe, healthy and fulfilling Physical Education programme.
KS4:
Etone students have an optional choice to take a Diploma in Btec Sport. It is a vocational course with students assessed through course work only. The Diploma compromises of 6 modules and on completion is equivalent to 4 GCSE's.
Study is focused over 14 modules:
- The Body in Sport
- Preparation for Sport
- Planning & Leading Sports Activities
- Practical Sport
- Work-based Project in Sport
- Health, Safety and Injury in Sport
Additionally all Btec students will complete the Sports Leaders Award.
Extra Curricular:
Alongside the curriculum timetable we offer an extensive range of activities on the extra curricular programme with at least one club timetabled each lunchtime and after school. PE at Etone College is accessible to all students, regardless of ability. Etone's extra curricular programme has been designed to allow participation for all our students, either for social or competitive participation.
The PE subject area also organises and runs an inter-form competition for years 7 - 10 in football, rugby, hockey, netball, and athletics. This enables the students to represent their form group and actively take part in sport for the competition and their enjoyment. Etone students also have the chance to take part in sports against other schools within the district and county.

Etone Physical Education department is proud to offer competitive opportunities to all pupils. With many individuals, and teams entered into many competitions/events over Warwickshire.
