Etone's Investing in Careers!
ETONE'S INVESTING IN CAREERS!

Careers Education and Guidance (CEG) is clearly a vital part of a young person's education. At Etone we pride ourselves on the quality of CEG provided to our students. However as part of our policy of continuous improvement we have decided to 'raise the bar'

The college has started a process which, if successful, will result in the award of 'Investor in Careers' (IiC) status. This will allow Etone to develop and enhance what is already being done and to continuously improve the provision to students.

Areas in which IiC can assist the school include:

· Provide a quality CEG programme in conjunction with the National Framework to maximise the potential of students

· Integrate careers education and guidance with citizenship, personal, social and health education and the main curriculum

· Promote inclusiveness

· Highlight the relevance of school activities to the world or work and gain recognition for excellence

· Support all students in achieving their full potential for economic well being, meeting the Every Child Matters and the Extended Schools Agenda

· Exceed Ofsted inspection requirements for CEG

· Meet quality criteria in DCFS National Framework for CEG 11-19

· Ensure public recognition of quality and good practice

· Demonstrate partnership working with other organisations such as Connexions, parents, local employers and other community links.

IiC is a three stage evidence-based process involving many members of the wider school community. Originally modelled on the Investors in People award, it has been successfully implemented in over 400 schools, further education colleges and approved training providers throughout the country since its launch in 1994.
