ICT @ Key Stage 4
The ICT subject area is a dynamic environment. Students are motivated and enthusiastic to learn new skills and apply them in a variety of contexts. The curriculum is varied and covers a multitude of areas including internet and email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, website design and artwork and imaging.
During Key Stage 3 all students build a good knowledge of all the applications software through a varied curriculum. At Key Stage 4 students have the opportunity to build on these skills and then specialise in particular aspects including Multimedia, Graphics and ICT in Enterprise.
Extra curricular activities consist of a variety of clubs. Students have the opportunity to develop skills in various lunchtime and twilight clubs encouraging them to fully reach their potential.
The Subject Area consists of two rooms with a full suite of 32 computers in each. Students have access to an enormous of amount of software that enables a vast amount of skills to be learnt and understood.
The ICT curriculum is constantly evolving and new courses and resources are considered regularly to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
